ONE BAGEL AT A TIME

Witch N' Bagels is a small batch bagel business that stands out for its handmade, hand-rolled bagels filled with fresh, local ingredients (and a hint of magik). This little business was born out of a passion for cooking, a desire to be part of the local community, and the opportunity to start something that's my own due to the current job market.

AN ARTISTS EVOLUTION

Traditional Artist turned Food Artist.

Little background: I grew up learning from my Mom, Nanny and Aunties. With a Métis background consisting of Swampy Cree, Scottish, and Irish, I grew up learning most of my cooking, baking, and magickal basics from them. They passed down recipes that came from my Great Gramma from when she lived in the bush up near Bakers Narrow and ones they had vetted over the years themselves. They passed down stories and tips (for both baking and life).
And from all the things that I've learned, I simply tried to apply them all into something that I can make my own.

I went to college for Visual and Digital Arts back in 2012, and learned the beauty of what fine arts once were and what digital art was starting to become.
Through the last several years I have been attempting to apply my artistic background with my day to day life. Thus leading me to combine art and food together.

So, after experimenting with various types of breads and baked goods, it was consensus that bagels are the thing I've mastered the best. Bagels are baked with a yeast base and nothing but good intent (unless you ask for more), leaving you with the biggest and fluffiest bagel you can find around.

WOMEN'S SUPPORTING WOMEN

Since starting this business out of my own kitchen, I started a job working for some phenomenal ladies. Ladies who are supporting me more than I could have ever believed or asked for. So what started in my kitchen at home, is now baked within a Food Safety Certified Kitchen. Both baking and pick up will occur at the same location, The Kiwi Cafe within the Wellness Institute, between the hours of 7:00 AM - 2:30 PM. The Wellness Institute is connected to The Seven Oaks Hospital, located at 1075 Leila Ave, Winnipeg, MB R2P 2W7.
